They must notify the Ministry of Manpower and obtain a Work Pass Exemption before commencing work.
Candidates who want to perform specialised activities relating to, amongst others, arbitration and mediation, exhibitions, location filming and fashion shows, performances, seminars and conferences, sports, and specialised services related to a new plant, operations or equipment, can apply for a Work Pass Exemption.
They must enter Singapore on a Short Term Visit Pass (STVP) first before applying. The WPE activity may only be exercised during the validity of the STVP.
Applicants are allowed to perform WPE activities for any number of visits yet only for up to a total of 90 days in a calendar year.
A Work Pass Exemption is not required for individuals attending company meetings, corporate retreats or meetings with business partners, participating in study tours, training courses, workshops, seminars and conferences, and attending exhibitions as trade visitors.
